South Downs North 21-6 in SportsMarketingExperts.com Bowl

SUGARLAND,TEXAS (December 14, 2011) Playing in front of a sold-out crowd at Fort BendChristian Stadium, the South squad jumped out to an early lead and never lookedback, downing the North team 21-6 in the SportsMarketingExperts.com bowl.

Privatehigh school football players from around the Lone Star state gathered inSugarland for the only post season all-star game in Texas.

The South firstgot on the scoreboard in the first quarter when quarterback Blake McKenzie(Corpus Christi John Paul II) found Jason Groll (Cypress Community Christian)open and connected on a 30-yard pass for a touchdown.

Theyraised their lead to 14-0 on a second quarter pass from quarterback GrantRobinson (Katy Faith West) to Chance Gray (Concordia Lutheran)

The North finally got on the scoreboard when quarterbackEarnest Evans (Westbury Christian) scampered 40-yards for the North’s lonetouchdown.

The Southwould add an insurance touchdown late in the game when Groll took the ball andrushed five-yards for the final score of the game.

The gamewas actually a defense battle, as the South constantly put pressure on theNorth’s offense; forcing six interceptions while recovering a fumble.

The gamewas well received by the players, fans, and sponsors and the second edition ofthe game is scheduled for December 8, 2012 at Fort Bend Christian Stadium.

The gamewas the brainchild of Ronald Oswalt, who is the CEO of Sports Marketing Experts.
